Introducing The Tesla Semi Classic 8
The Tesla Semi touts 1.7 kWh/mile efficiency and savings of 200k per year, according to Tesla. Its efficiency is hard to resist for the logistics industry, if supply can deliver.
The Tesla was finally delivered to PepsiCo’s order of 100 Semis earlier this week. From aesthetics to its ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.36, it looks too attractive to pass for all the truckers who are looking for their purchase.
An initial test run proves the Semi is more than capable to handle the usual truck routes without a single charge. So, forget all about range anxiety, there’s no need to charge at all from end to end. For example, a test drive was completed without fully depleting the battery for a fully loaded payload for 500 miles from Fremont to San Diego on November 25th.
Now, the only thing left is for Tesla to deliver on FSD for the Semi so that the truckers can just sleep during this 6-hour drive and collect the shipping fee at the end of a good night’s rest.
